Details of Le Voyageur

Le Voyageur in Provence-Alpes, France sleeps 7 people. Set within an expansive, landscaped garden filled with tall trees and lush green planting you will find Le Voyageur. This welcoming home is located on the outskirts of a charming village which is nestled at the foothills of the stunning Luberon mountain range, making it the perfect place to stay to experience the countryside and villages of Provence.

The home has a pretty exterior with pastel coloured paint work and typically Provençal window shutters. Indoors, the two floors are connected by stairs and a lift, making it accessible for those with mobility issues or elderly guests.

On the ground floor there is an open-plan kitchen and dining room which boasts all of the appliances you could need for preparing a delicious meal. The dining table looks out over the lovely garden and is adjacent to the kitchen, creating a social environment for cooking or enjoying a drink together in the evening. Down the hall there is a cosy lounge room which can be used as a bedroom when utilising the double sofa bed. The ground floor is also where you can find the sauna which is a great spot for unwinding after a busy day of sight-seeing.

Upstairs there are two spacious double bedrooms and a single bedroom as well as a large living space with comfy sofas, a fireplace, TV and well stocked book shelves. This first floor living room also has a balcony with unrivalled views of the surrounding landscape.

Stepping outdoors you will discover large landscaped grounds with lawned areas, shady trees and shrubbery. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a large dining table on the terrace so that you can cook on the barbecue and eat al-fresco on a warm summer's evening. The garden also boasts a private swimming pool which has a cover to keep little ones safe.

If you wish to head out for dinner or a few drinks then you are within walking distance of the village centre which has a few restaurants, a bakery and a bar as well as tennis courts.

You can find more shops and eateries as well as staggering panoramic views 1km up the side of the mountain in the old village of Oppède le Vieux which was settled over 1000 years ago but was abandoned when villagers moved down the hill to the newer village of Oppède. Since WW2, when a group of artists moved back up to Oppède le Vieux, it has sprung back to life but even today it looks as if it has been untouched for centuries and feels in parts like a ghost town. If you choose to visit you can see the old defensive walls, the castle ruins and historic churches or simply dine in the village square which is lit by twinkling fairy lights in the evening.

This area is filled with lots of other villages and towns you can visit such as Ménerbes which is 5km away or the gorgeous red-coloured village of Roussillon which is 18km away. There are also woodlands, hiking and cycling routes and protected parklands for you to visit close to the villa for relaxed days out in nature.
