Set in large wooded grounds, Bastide Des Chanterelles is a unique and historical home built in the 18th century just a short drive from historic cities and sleepy villages. Featuring 9 bedrooms including a 5-bedroom dormitory, the spacious house sleeps up to 20 guests, making it a comfortable base for family reunions.

Charming and full of its original character, the three-floor bastide was renovated in the 1960s to offer modern comfort while preserving much of its original atmosphere.

Right as you enter through the main door, you'll be invited to relax in the warm and cosy living room fantastically equipped for unwinding and socialising. Another room is just behind the corner, with more sofas, a TV and a fireplace for enjoying idle moments together. At the top of the wide staircase you will find all the bedrooms, awash in a soothing colour palettes to exude an elegant yet homey feel. Children will love having sleepovers and telling bedtime stories in the five-bed dormitory – and there are even shelves stacked with books to serve as as a source of inspiration.

The main draw of the villa is its outdoor space; set in 4000m2 of wooded land planted with trees, shrubs and flowers. Follow the path through the gardens to the sun-dappled swimming pool where you can escape the warm summer sun or laze on the poolside terrace. You don't even have to go back to the villa for refreshments, as the summer kitchen will provide all the essentials for preparing quick meals. Whether you want to eat al-fresco, read a book or simply soak up the nature around you, you'll be able to always find a relaxing spot here – whether it's the outdoor sofas, garden chairs, picnic benches or the long table designed for dining under the stars.

Tucked away from the crowds that flock to Toulon's glistening shores during warm-weather months, Bastide Des Chanterelles is perfectly positioned to discover the region's beautiful beaches, bustling nightlife, rich nature and the charm of typical Provençal villages.

However if you do want to visit the bustling city, then the centre of Toulon is just a 10-minute drive away, with its lovely terraced cafés and shops set amongst the winding lanes. Its historic harbour is ideal for strolling around, and there's even a mountain Mont Faron nearby offering breathtaking views over the surrounding landscape.

Wine lovers can indulge in tasting sessions and shopping in Bandol, a seaside town known for its wine route. It has many restaurants, beaches and hidden corners to discover too.

Alternatively, in under an hour's drive, you can visit Aix-en-Provence, bursting at its seams with museums, squares, historic buildings and an excellent dining scene to savour regional delicacies.
