The cottage itself many years ago was an old cow shed as the name suggests however the owners have given it the love and attention it deserves with a full renovation and made it a fantastic holiday retreat for couples with no expense meaning visitors are ensured of perfection throughout.
You enter the property into the open plan living/kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped and well-presented and has all the necessities should you not want to dine out at the many restaurants close by. The living area has a comfortable sofa which is great to snuggle up on in front of the fabulous wood burner on those colder evenings. The property is open plan throughout except for the separate bathroom which offers a shower over the bath and heated towel rail. Towards the back of the property is a plush king-size bed with cosy linen guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep after exploring this stunning area. To the side of the property, you also have a lovely little patio area with garden furniture giving you a great place to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a well-deserved glass of fizz. The Byre has plenty of character and has been lovingly decorated and furnished with exposed beams throughout giving you that lovely country home feeling.
This is a perfect base from which to enjoy the quaint market town of Helmsley, being just minutes from renowned restaurants, superb delicatessens and quality shops. In this idyllic location, amongst rolling countryside on the edge of Ryedale, Helmsley has an art centre with live-event and film programmes, five acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of the castle ruins, and Duncombe Park, a country estate and home to the International Centre of Birds of Prey. The area is popular for walking, touring and country pursuits.
From the popular market town of Pickering, 13 miles, the North York Moors steam train transports visitors to the fishing port of Whitby. Visit the abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, stately homes at Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard and - not to be missed - is the ancient walled city of York, which is less than an hour’s drive, steeped in history and brimming with attractions. The shop, pub and restaurant are 500 yards from The Byre in Helmsley.
