The village of Stoke Canon has a popular pub and convenience store which are located just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage, and St Mary Magdalene Church is directly opposite. Exeter St Davids train station is just a 10-minute taxi ride away from the property, or guests can catch a bus into Tiverton or Exeter from the stop which is just a few seconds walk away.
With Dartmoor within easy reach, the popular south coast nearby and the rural countryside of East Devon on the doorstep, Rose Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring some of Devon’s finest scenery. From sleepy market towns to the miles and miles of coastline, which is much loved by surfers, swimmers, families and even walkers from all over the world, a trip to this special place will stay with you forever.
There are many places to visit. In addition to Exeter’s famous 13th-century cathedral, array of shops and restaurants, there are also the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Exeter’s historic quayside, which provides a lovely atmosphere in which to relax and stroll around. Explore the historic estuary town of Topsham and take the nature walk or cycle path which runs alongside the Exe Estuary, or visit the great Crealy Theme Park & Resort or Go Ape Forest Adventure for family fun. The National Trust’s Killerton House is located nearby and has a glorious landscaped garden which is surrounded by parkland. This fine 18th-century house has renowned historical fashion collections and wide open parkland, with a garden full of trees from around the globe. Fishing and horse riding are also available nearby.
