Polly in Umberleigh can be found halfway between the beautiful, rugged moorland of Exmoor and the dramatic coastlines of North Devon, you’ll really be spoiled for choice if you want to venture out for the day. The lorry conversion has been a labour of love for owners Arron and Nicki, their 2 children Ollie and Poppy who live nearby on their family smallholding. Where possible, they have utilised recycled materials from their farm so that every inch of the lorry tells a story.
They’ve created a very private glamping experience based around balance, fun, peace and tranquillity; in a secluded location, it offers many little luxuries and conveniences to make you feel truly welcome. You’ll have the chance to switch off completely and hear nothing but the birdsong, distant church bells and occasional animal life if you’re looking for a romantic short break. Polly is situated a short 200m walk over a flat field to make sure you are in the most secluded and private of corners. The owners will be on hand to help with transporting your luggage if required. Cook on the open fire; the owners invite guests to take a little of what they fancy as they pass the vegetable patch on their way to the lorry or to collect their own eggs from the chickens and ducks down at the farm. There is a portable fridge/cool box under the lorry, keeping food cold for 5 days. If you don’t feel like cooking, 3 fields away via a footpath and a few stiles, you’ll get to the village of Chittlehampton where there is a great pub serving home-cooked food and real ales.

Holidays at Polly run from Friday to Friday, with short breaks also available.
