Perch in Hadlow Down, near Uckfield, East Sussex sleeps 2 people in 1 bedroom. Perch near Uckfield; whether you are looking for a romantic break away to enjoy the tranquillity of your very own opulent cosy hut with a wood burner, Wi-Fi and barbecue, Perch is the place to take your staycation. Enjoy a dip in the spring fed, crystal clear pool or partake in some fishing for a plethora of fish species.

Set in some of the most stunning countryside you will ever experience with the most amazing vistas, as soon as you step out onto your balcony you will see Hastingford Fishery, with its 3 spring-fed lakes. One is the original fishing lake, with some large common and mirror carp plus perch and grass carp, the second is a more recent large lake, which has more breeds of fish and is maturing nicely. This is stocked with common and mirror carp, golden and blue orfe, green and golden tench, chub, roach, rudd and gudgeon. There are fabulous views to the South Downs from here. At the very top is a natural ’wild swimming’ pool for those adventurous enough.

All anglers must show a current fishing licence and abide by the rules which can be provided upon booking or by request. Fishing is available during the day between 8am- 8pm/dusk, and at night between 8pm/dusk- 8am. Please refer to the fees list.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads around the lakes and farm. There will be an empty field available for exercising but please clear up after them.

For ramblers and hikers, there are several public footpaths leading to Buxted, Rotherfield and beyond. Pick up can be arranged to/from station if required, by prior arrangement with the owner.

Perch has all the modern conveniences you’d expect with the addition of a wood burner for those chilly nights. Parking is available right outside the hut and is very convenient. There are facilities for wheelchair users, as one of the owners is a wheelchair user. Wi-Fi is available, with USB ports conveniently located in the hut. Please be aware that the phone signal is not very good for some networks except at the top of the hill. The hosts are very welcoming and are extremely proud of facilities, landscaping and attention to detail. Swimming in the spring-fed pool is something you don’t get the opportunity to do every day and this certainly will be a place where you will make life time memories. The shop & restaurant are 4 miles from Perch near Uckfield, with a pub being 2½ miles from Perch. A beach can be found 23 miles.

Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and WI-FI included. Outdoor swimming pool (depth 1m-2m- the pool is fed by a spring). Private parking for 2 cars. Please not there is a lake located 10 meters from the property on the ground level. No smoking.

Holidays at Perch run from Monday to Monday, with short breaks also available.
