To the rear is a great enclosed lawn garden, simply perfect for relaxing in and watching the children play. Surrounded by countryside with excellent walks direct from doorstep, the cottage has miles of trails and circular routes to explore nearby. A play park is located within a few yards, for younger children wanting to run around or play football. The surrounding area includes many gastro pubs, including those with rosette awards, and a very popular Indian restaurant, literally within a few minutes’ drive.
The cottage’s central location allows you to enjoy and explore Norfolk’s amazing coastline and the famous Norfolk Broads National Park within 10 minutes’ drive. The village of Hemblington has a village shop and restaurant, and there is a local farm shop in the neighbouring village of Blofield. The RSPB nature reserve at Strumpshaw Fen is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The Fairhaven Gardens at South Walsham makes for a lovely day out. and BeWILDerwood Adventure Park, an award-winning forest of family fun and outdoor adventure with treehouses, wobbly wires, storytelling and boat rides. The Norfolk Broads is best explored by renting a day boat or enjoy a river trip. Canoeing and kayaking also available. Why not jump on the Bure Valley railway to enjoy a steam train journey? The route takes you from Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, on to the lovely Georgian market town of Aylsham, where you can jump on and off mid-station at the poplar broadland village of Coltishall with its riverside pubs and cafés. The city of Norwich has a castle, museum, cathedral, historic riverside pubs, great restaurants, two indoor shopping malls and plenty of high street shops to enjoy some retail therapy. Alternatively there are sandy beaches at Caister-on-Sea, Scratby, Hemsby, and Sea Palling. Winterton-on-Sea allows dogs on the beach year-round. National Trust’s Horsey Gap, 16 miles, where you can walk on the sand dunes and see the seals and pups on the beach from November to February. The lively traditional seaside resort at Great Yarmouth, 15 miles, has wide sandy beach, donkey rides, a pier with fun fair, amusements, crazy golf, model village, wax works and promenade where rides can be enjoyed on the train and by traditional horse drawn carriages. Why not enjoy a day at the races, both horse and dog racing stadiums? Golf courses can be found at nearby Blofield and Sprowston. Fishing can be enjoyed at the many nearby fishing lakes and the local waterways (seasonal and licence required). The beach is 15 miles.
