Winchelsea is a more peaceful seaside resort than those along the coast meaning more space on the beach! With local shops including a butcher, delicatessen and fishmonger/greengrocer along with restaurants nearby there is everything you could need on hand to enjoy a stress-free stay. After a long day sunbathing you can return home and relax in a beautiful garden and enjoy a barbeque with all of the family. Greyfriars Place also welcomes the furry members of your family and benefits from a fully enclosed garden for your dogs.
Refurbished in 2022, the two-bedroom accommodation benefits from an entrance porch to leave your sandy shoes/boots in leading into a sunny living room with a door leading out to the garden. Beautifully furnished throughout the living room also boasts a Smart TV so you can cosy up of an evening or a cooler day to enjoy a movie. On the ground floor is also a large kitchen with a dining area along with a table and chairs to the patio area outside for alfresco dining. Upstairs there is a family bathroom with walk in shower to wash off the sea water along with the master bedroom boasting a large double bed and the second bedroom providing bunk beds. With exterior lighting to the front pathway allowing easy access all day throughout the year, and lights to the rear of the property above the patio area guests are able to enjoy the garden into the evenings.
Leading on from Winchelsea Beach is Rye Harbour a great place to walk or cycle with Rye Harbour’s nature reserve alongside the walking route perfect for birdwatchers to spot some beautiful birds in their natural habitat. A short walk through the nature reserve also leads you to Camber Castle or a nearby pub for a spot of lunch or dinner before your stroll back home. If you want to explore further afield then the historic town of Rye is only a short drive or a walk away offering a wealth of independent shops, restaurants and bars along with cobbled streets some of which are lined with medieval half-timbered houses. Rye also benefits from a railway station offering easy access further along the coast or to London via the high-speed Ashford line. Other nearby towns such as Hastings, Battle or Ashford are also only a short drive away offering a day of retail therapy or a spot of history with English Heritage’s Battle Abbey and its grounds being the home of the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
