Fairy Bridge in Haverfordwest; perched at the helm of a hidden valley, Fairy Bridge overlooks beautiful bluebell woodland and a small brook which runs through the valley below. Trundle along the footpath at the bottom of the slope, past millponds and the remnants of an old mill to your own secret beach. This small south facing cove has its own natural diving pool and small waterfall to swim under.The cosy space is equipped with a small but functional micro kitchen, a wood burner to keep you lovely and warm in the cooler evenings and a corner sofa which opens out into a good-sized double bed. The hut is serviced with an en-suite eco bathroom with hot running water, shower and a eco-toilet, providing all the modern comforts you will need. Outside, relax and unwind in the hammock chairs or sit on the bench and simply watch the world amble by.
A short drive, or a steady walk, along the coastal road takes you to the popular fishing village of Solva. Take a stroll around the idyllic harbour, which includes shallow pools and caves for paddling and exploring, while gastronomes are spoilt for choice with fish restaurants, cafés and lovely pubs to choose from. What’s more, the city of St Davids is only a further 5 minutes down the coast with a variety of attractions from its famous cathedral, small shops, restaurants, and of course, its spectacular selection of golden beaches. This idyllic little hideaway in the heart of Pembrokeshire’s National Park is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway.
Boat trips leave from St Justinians near St Davids to visit rugged Ramsey Island RSPB and from Martins Haven on the Marloes peninsula to visit Skomer Island. Expect to see magnificent coastal scenery, abundant seals and thousands of breeding seabirds such as comical puffins, hardy little manx shearwaters, gannets, rare choughs and more. A visit to the Solva Woollen Mill in Middle Mill, the oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire which specializes in flat weave carpets, rugs and runners - including rugs for Llwynywormwood, Prince Charles’ Welsh residence. Visitors are welcome to watch the looms at work and perhaps buy a memento in the shop?
