The property is set in the sleepy village of Allithwaite, just under 2 miles from Grange-over-Sands. The neighbouring village of Cartmel, with its 12th-century priory and racecourse, is also just under 2 miles away.
Dunmail House is the ideal holiday home for visiting the Lake District National Park, as you are not far from any of the main routes to take you around the Lakes, and Lake Windermere is only 9 miles away. Other nearby places include Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle, Grizedale Forest and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Kendal, Bowness and Windermere are 30 minutes away.
The limestone outcrop of Humphrey Head and its nature reserve, where the last wolf in England was allegedly seen in 1390, is just under 2 miles away. It offers a tranquil circular walk taking in the stunning views and returning through a picturesque wood where wildlife is abundant. Skydiving Northwest is in Flookburgh, 2½ miles away, and Grange-over-Sands offers golfing. Cycle trails such as the Cartmel Cycle Loop are popular.
