Cockermouth is on the border of the Lake District National Park and within easy reach of some of the glorious lakes the area is famous for. A short drive will take you to Bassenthwaite Lake at the foot of the Skiddaw range for fantastic walks, woodland, wildlife and watersports. The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached in about 20 minutes. For walkers and cyclists, you’ll love the route through Whinlatter Forest Park, or continue down the valley to Buttermere which boasts stunning panoramic scenery.
