Rugwell is a traditional thatched cottage which has been extended and improved over the years to provide spacious and comfortable accommodation for couples or families. The roof was re-thatched in 2006 and the interior of the property, which is full of character, is presented in good decorative condition throughout. Oil fired central heating and hot water supplied by Aga. Strictly no smoking.One small, well-behaved dog by arrangement.
LOCATION The cottage is set in delightful rural surroundings close to the villages of Galmpton, Hope Cove and Malborough. The sea is a short distance away with beautiful beaches at Hope Cove and Thurlestone Sands where there are also wonderful cliff walks, whilst the beautiful harbour and estuary of Salcombe with its miles of sheltered water is within a pleasant 4 mile drive.
ENTRANCE/DINING HALL The entrance lobby leads into a slate tiled dining hall with table and eight chairs, stone fireplace and staircase rising to first floor. Exposed painted ceiling beams
DRAWING ROOM A bright room with South facing window and French doors opening to cobbled front garden and giving pleasant views across fields towards Malborough village. Two comfortable sofas, TV, DVD player, raised marble fireplace and exposed painted ceiling beams.
SITTING ROOM With wide South facing bay window the full length of one wall with window seat and views across the valley to fields. One large sofa, one armchair, table, stone fireplace with timber mantle, open grate and slate hearth. Exposed painted ceiling beams and slate tiled floor.
KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM An attractive room with range of base cupboards and drawers with hardwood work surfaces and Belfast sink, electric hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Fireplace recess housing oil fired Aga cooker with tiled surround and granite work surface to one side. Bench window seating with cupboards beneath. Slate tiled floor and exposed painted ceiling timbers. Door to lobby with stable door to outside.
UTILITY ROOM Formerly a garage with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.

BEDROOMS Four in total. On the ground floor (adjacent to the Drawing Room) is a large bedroom with a zip and link bed (can be used either as a twin or a double), wardrobe, drawers and en suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash-hand basin and w.c. On the first floor are two further bedrooms with double beds, one of which has a small en suite with shower cubicle, wash-hand basin and w.c. The fourth bedroom is a twin room with two single beds. N.B. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels (excluding those for the beach) are provided.
BATHROOMS In addition to the two en suite shower rooms is a family bathroom on the first floor with roll-top bath, wash-hand basin, w.c. and heated towel rail.
OUTSIDE Above and to the rear is a slate paved terrace with wrought iron handrail, a perfect spot for sunbathing, barbecues etc. At the back of the terrace there is a delightful thatched summerhouse. The gardens back onto fields and are well established with lawned areas, shrubs, trees and plants. The pretty front garden, enclosed by stone walls, is partly cobbled and partly stone paved.
