2 miles from the popular seaside village of Duncannon with its lovely sandy beach, on Hook Head Peninsula is this beautifully refurbished Georgian/gothic cottage. Lovingly restored it has been finished to a very high standard and decorated with Laura Ashley fabrics throughout. The home boasts a galleried hallway and two lounges, one has a window seat to enjoy the early morning sunshine and the other has French doors opening on to a decked area. The fully fitted kitchen's dining nook sits beneath a vaulted ceiling. The Famed Dunbrody House Hotel estate is right across the road.

The area is surrounded by tradition fishing villages typical of Hook Peninsula, numerous sandy coves and notable Cistercian abbeys such as Tintern Abbey and Dunbrody Abbey. Fine dining is available in Dunbrody House Hotel, the ancestral home of the Chichester Family and about a 500 meter walk from the Mersheen Lodge. Duncannon has several pubs, 3 restaurants and a maritime museum situated in Duncannon fort which dates back to Cromwell's times. The ancestral home of John F. Kennedy and the Dunbrody famine ship is in nearby New Ross.
