Within approx. 9km is the tourist place Umag. Here are diverse sport and recreation possibilities. The light signal of the lighthouse can be observed up to 32km and the tower itself is 36m high. The lighthouse keeper lives next to the lighthouse.
You have a 4 persons apartment at your disposal, situated in the building directly next to the lighthouse itself. The sea is within 30m. In the town Savudrija are diverse restaurants, where you can enjoy the traditional kitchen.
The lighthouse has an enclosed garden full of Mediterranean plants, trademarked for the green part of Istrië.
The legends of the lighthouse of Savudrija lead as follows: In 1818, the lighthouse was built by count Meternich. He built this lighthouse for a beautiful, Croatian woman who he fell in love with during a ball in Vienna. Unfortunately, they could not live in it: the woman died on the day that the lighthouse was completed and the count never visited it again.
