This splendid castle is located in the middle of a stream valley in the Belgian Voer region. This castle accommodation is made up of the ground floor, suitable for eight people, and the first floor, where fourteen people can stay.
Your experience will begin the moment you arrive, going up the half-kilometre-long driveway. In the summer, some thirty horses graze in the pastures against a backdrop of ancient forested hills. The high castle, from the year 1606, towers above all the surrounding buildings. You can look out over the pond just steps away, which is surrounded by oak trees centuries old. The castle’s history goes back to the Carolingian era, and indeed back to the year 941. The de Pallant family lived here until the middle of the sixteenth century. Jean de Strijthagen expanded the complex considerably in 1606, and in 1863 the castle was added to for the last time, with it being fully restored in the 1930s.
The proud owner of this gem will be more than glad to share his enthusiasm about the castle with you.
The castle is twenty minutes from Maastricht in the southern Belgian Cortils. You’ll be staying here in a triangle: Maastricht-Aachen-Liège, where the famous Voer region, the Land van Herve the Limburg Heuvelland are. An ideal starting point for all your bicycle and hiking trips.
