Take a trip to Paignton Zoo or a ride on the steam railway from Paignton to Kingswear, where a ferry sails to historic Dartmouth. For the more adventurous, take the family to Go Ape, a great family day out. Further afield is the historic city of Plymouth with its indoor shopping complex, or visit the Hoe and Barbican. Also worth a visit is the National Marine Aquarium. There are many NT properties all within a short drive from the property. Golf, sailing, horse riding, paintballing are all available locally.
