Perfectly placed for walking or touring, with two pubs serving food a pleasant walk away, the cottages are cosy and warm and are ideal for holidays at any time of year. Places of interest include the popular market town of Helmsley, dominated by the ruined castle. Pickering, the terminus of the North Yorks Moors Steam Railway, travelling to the Heartbeat village of Goathland, and the Ryedale Museum at Hutton le Hole. Riveaulx Abbey, Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall are all within 12 miles, and a little further is the coast, with Whitby just 30 miles, and Scarborough, offering something for all the family. The walled city of York is well worth a visit and is also easily accessible, with its museums, cobbled alleyways, shops and of course, the magnificent minster. Shop 3 miles, pub 100 yards. NB.
