Poltimore: mainly thatched and red-stone hamlet in farmland about 1 miles from the edge of Exeter. Broadclyst (village with attractive pub, PO/shop, and one of Devon's finest church towers), Stoke Canon (riverside village with pub and shops) and Killerton House and its very beautiful gardens (Nat. Trust), all within 2 miles. The sea/sandy beaches/sailing at Exmouth, about 12 miles. ... a cottage adjoining two smart apartments in the grounds of the owners' 60 acre organic farm. This is 'the good life', totally peaceful; ducks and hens in the yard and a couple of cats and dogs; acre lake (carp fishing); four mountain bikes, ponies and some goats. Two shared, enclosed gardens, one with trampoline, slide, swing, climbing frame and picnic tables, and the other with badminton and barbecue. Shared games barn (half-sized pool table, darts). Old farm buildings close by, but beyond are stunning views. A friendly and comfortable place to stay.
The Dairy (arrow 2) is the ground floor apartment (shared entrance hall with G11) with wooden floors and rugs, good use of modern colours and fabrics: living/dining/fitted kitchen (washer-drier, microwave); two bedrooms - double, and a single; bathroom (suite plus bath-shower). Suitable for partially disabled. No smoking.
