Lympstone: Extremely pretty and remarkably unspoilt village - one of Devon's best - between low red-stone cliffs beside the wide Exe estuary (sailing boats, windsurfers). Harbour, estuary shingle beach, old cottages (many Georgian), church, several pubs and shops, railway; stunning views. Exmouth with its big sandy beaches, 3 miles; Exeter, 8 miles; two very good golf courses within 4 miles. ... and in the same narrow cobbled lane in Lympstone, a cosy, 'upside down' cottage with small balcony overlooking the estuary. Very comfortable living/dining/fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, gas hob, electric oven), ceiling to the apex, which takes up the whole of the first floor. The living area has wooden floor with rugs, exposed stone wall, CD player and, at one end, glazed door leading to the small balcony (table/chairs) which has wonderful views (see above left) across the estuary to Powderham Castle and Starcross. Downstairs (stairgate), two bedrooms - double with en suite shower-room (power-shower, suite) and another double with en suite bathroom (suite plus bath-shower). Under the stairs, a washer-drier. Phone. No smoking. Public car park, about 400 yards away. A good comfortable base, cosy all year round, and convenient for those who want to leave the car at home.
