Riding locally; Blagdon Lake trout fishing, 6-7 miles. Bristol, 18 miles. Nearest pub, 1 miles. about a mile outside Compton Bishop, in the hamlet of Rackley, and beside a quiet no through lane is a newly renovated detached cottage. Large enclosed, grassy garden bordering the Old River Axe (table and chairs, trampoline, outdoor ping-pong) and overlooking water meadows and the Somerset Level and with views to Brent Knoll. Inside, everything new and well done. Kitchen (dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, double oven); utility room (washing machine, tumble drier) and downstairs loo. All in one dining room/lounge (woodburner, Playstation) with floor to ceiling French windows opening out onto the garden. Upstairs, three bedrooms; the master double (5’) with en-suite shower-room (suite), another double and a room with twin beds (zip-linkable) and futon. Bathroom (suite plus bath-shower). Outside a gated slipway leads down to the river where it’s possible to launch canoes (not provided). Fun coarse fishing available on 1 mile of rivers Axe and Yeo, up to 15 March and after 15 June (licence required). No smoking. Good peaceful base.
