These two cottages lie quietly, in an elevated position, overlooking the beautiful coast around Ilfracombe. They enjoy a sunny situation in a pleasant courtyard, adjacent to the owners' 17th-century farmhouse. Sympathetically converted from traditional farm buildings - Dolly's Barn was once a barn and Aggie's Cottage was a former stable - they both benefit from their own patios, and shared use of gardens and paddocks of 3acres (including a children's play area and a field for ball games). Ideal for large family groups, Dolly's Barn is as spacious as it is characterful. Boasting an array of beams and sloping ceilings, it also caters for people with disabilities. Aggie's Cottage, although smaller, is just as charming; as it uses many original architectural features, and some salvaged ones. The real advantage of spending some time in this lovely region is that there is always something to see, and always something to do. Holidays here can be incredibly relaxing, or completely fun-filled, depending on which sights or attractions are visited. Indeed, often it's hard to choose between spending the days amid the peaceful country landscapes of the Exmoor National Park (within 10miles) or exploring the stretching sands and picturesque bays of the North Devon Heritage Coast; follow the coastal footpath close by, which leads to Lee Bay. Three miles away is Woolacombe Sands - a Blue Flag beach, which is a firm family favourite; in addition to being a mecca for surfers. There are two golf courses within 4miles; and a driving range just a mile away. Horse riding is available from stables, which neighbour the property. Croyde and Saunton within 10miles; the market town of Barnstaple is 12miles. Ilfracombe (1mile) has plenty of interesting pubs, restaurants and shops, and its harbour is the ideal spot for sea fishing enthusiasts to test their skills.
