Far reaching views from every window
Set on the edge of Marsden Moor (NT Estate) in the grounds of Crow Hill, a former Victorian mill owner's estate, this contemporary holiday cottage is nestled within rolling hills in 4 acres of grounds where sheep graze. The former stable block, furnished to a very good standard, has excellent views and walks from the door including the Pennine Way. Marsden is a small Pennine village with a friendly atmosphere. It is also the location for TVs 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'Where the Heart Is'. It boasts a lively jazz festival in October bringing traditional and modern jazz into the valley as well as Imbolc, a festival of fire and Marsden Cuckoo Day, an event that celebrates the arrival of Spring. The estate, designated an SSSI, is home to a large number of moorland birds including the golden plover, red grouse, curlew and diminutive twite. Horse riding, 1 mile, golf 10 minute walk.
