Shropshire boasts many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Trust properties, as well as the Glider Centre on the delightful Long Mynd. Ludlow, famous for its `Michelin-star' eating houses, quaint cobbled streets and medieval castle, hosts the Ludlow Festival in June and July, and also provides a leisure centre - great for entertaining children. Further places of interest include Bridgenorth, Ironbridge, Blists Hill and the Wenlock Edge. Much Wenlock offers a 12th-century priory and antique market. Younger children can enjoy an indoor play barn just outside Craven Arms or Acton Scott Working Farm Museum. Further afield are Offa's Dyke, Hay-on-Wye and the Welsh Black Mountains. Fishing, golf and horse riding are popular activities in the area.
