Situated at Staithes, near Whitby, these cottages are in an idyllic position close to the countryside and sea. These former World War 1 army barracks have been ingeniously and tastefully transformed to provide very good quality cottages, retaining much rustic character and charm. The cottages have the added advantage of parking and each cottage has a sitting out area. As the cottages are in close proximity to one another, they could be booked for groups of up to 24 guests. A 2 minute stroll down the cobbled street brings you to the centre of the picturesque fishing village with its small harbour nestling beneath rugged cliffs. Step back in time and walk the quaint narrow passages, as Captain James Cook himself must have done. Here there are village shops, pubs, cafes and a restaurant. As the cottages are situated just off the Cleveland Way there are many fine moor land and cliff top walks and golf links nearby, and a leisure centre 2 miles down the road. Travel on Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express (the North Yorks Moors Railway) through 'Heartbeat' country or visit Whitby 11 miles away.
