Brixham: Torbay's fishing port. Beautiful, busy harbour; around it fishermen's cottages. Lots of narrow streets, stepped alleyways; town shops fill the valley behind. Lots of beaches (Goodrington Sands, 3 miles) nearby; indoor and open-air (sea) swimming pools, large yacht marina. Lovely cliff walks (via Berry Head lighthouse) to Kingswear, 4 miles. Boats for hire. Launch trips across to Torbay or to Dartmouth. Resort amusements. Golf, 2 miles. Torquay, 7. ... about a mile from the centre of Brixham, a pretty little cottage attached to the friendly owners’ house. Own entrance leads into beamed living/dining room (open fire, books), and fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave). Up steepish stairs (rope rail) to two bedrooms - a twin and a double; bathroom (suite). Outside, little patio with barbecue and garden chairs. Bus stop within a few yards. No children under 6. No smoking.
